Every time I'm in Chicago, I'm blown away by her beauty. Don't get me wrong, I love Los Angeles and all that, but even working regularly in downtown, I still don't feel a lot of positive feelings towards the actual city. I like Angelenos. I love the industry and the weather and the beaches.... but the actual physical city? It's kind of gross. Dirty, graffitied, alternating between gorgeous and suuuuper shady in the same city block.... Let's just say I like "pockets" of DTLA.
Chicago is totally different though. It's CLEAN. The building are all build in different colors and hues (thanks to not needing to build for earthquake safety). There is history and culture and that gorgeous river running through the loop..... So pretty. Hard to beat a lake-front view from the skyline. And NOTHING beats the pride her inhabitants carry for her. I mean, seriously, is there any other city that has it's own flag? The people tattoo on themselves?! I'll keep my LA address (because, SNOW) but I sure don't mind a visit from time to time (especially since it means I can hang with my midwestie-bestie Amanda).
Since I was out there to assist Amanda on a wedding, I can't post any of the images from that just yet, but trust me, like every event Amanda photographs, it was swoooooon-worthy. Can't wait to come out to Chi-town again soon!
